Ornament Punch handmade Rose!

I am not sure if you have seen the Roses made with SU!'s Ornament Punch, but I have seen them. I just HAD to make one! They look so soft and real! I will walk you though how to make one, so you too can have one of these Beautiful creations!!

First off, punch out all your ornaments and 1 3/8" circle (I used Whisper White from SU!) I lost count of how many ornaments I punched out, just keep going until you get the look you desire. And then sponge (if desired) both sides of bottom of punch.

using either a pencil or other round object (I used an embossing tool) curl up the edges. Then with circle in middle place the curled punches at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions of the clock.

When going to next layer go between the last layer you put down. Keep working your way to the center, as you get closer curl your petals even tighter. It should look like the picture above when you are done. To make center stay sticking up straight I poured a little Crystal Effects from SU! in the middle and just held the center upright for a few minutes and it stayed put!! This is the most realistic Rose I have ever seen made with paper!! Well, there is another one I saw the other day that uses a different punch and it is quite realistic too. I'll try to show you that one too at a later date.

Isabelle

It's Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I was feeling a little under the weather, but today I am doing so much better!!   I wanted to show you what I made this weekend. I am working on my Daughter's scrapbook, and I just HAD to do this page of her cat Isabelle!
She is so cute in these pages! She loves to play in the empty box with the plastic still on it where the water used to be. AND she is too cute hanging upside down on her cat tree! I had to make a cat from punches and I hung her upside down playing with a string! I hope you think she is cute! Isabelle has one blue eye and one green eye. So of course my 'cat' has that too!

But first I want to tell you about the Alphabet set I used! It is a set from SU! that is called Defining Alphabet, and it is intended that you put it on the blocks like this:

BUT, I wanted to be able to use BOTH letters, upper and lower case, so I mounted all FOUR on one block! This way I get more for my $$!
Here is how they look:

SU!'s craft and rubber scissors are so great they had no problem getting in between each of the letters!! I love Stampin' Up!!

Ok, enough of that!   Here is a close up of the cat that I made with punches:

I didn't want the page too big, so hopefully you can see everything! I hung the string off the Title so "Isabelle" can play with it!

Have you ever had a card in your mind and when you are done making the card it is NOTHING like the one you pictured? It is funny how that happens! I looked at the Paper Crafts magazine and saw a card I wanted to try, and the only thing that is the same is the scalloped oval with the white dots! LOL    I love how my card came out, so I will be happy with the process!

The Stampin' Up! punch Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (on page 11 of the occasions mini) really makes it easy! I punched out the bird using Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip cardstock and sponged around the edges and Voila! Easy Peasy!!   I LOVE it when a plan comes together!
In the background behind the oval (Sizzix Die Frame, Oval Scallop) I stamped the Le Jardin branch that you see below the bird to add some dimension and make my own Designer Paper. I stamped off after I used the markers so it wouldn't be so bright, I just wanted to have it there to make the design flow. The branch in the Vanilla Oval is stamped full strength.
I used the White Gel pen from SU! to put the dots in the ovals.   I really like how it came out, how about you!?

Blog Hop Day 3 and blog Candy!

Yesterday for some reason when I put the title on my blog post, I put Blog Hop Day 3, well it was really Day 2! TODAY is Day 3! Sheesh! I had a lot on my plate yesterday and it carried over from my head over to my typing fingers.......I didn't even catch it until Last night!!   :-/

Today I am going to show you a Two Page Scrapbook Spread. Try and say that 3 times fast!   This is one of my scrapbook classes! I am sooooo ready for Spring, not to mention Summer! So I thought this would be a good time to show this! Think Warm!!

For the fishies (I know that is not a real word, but I like it!) on my pages I cut out the small oval punch from Stampin' Up! and then cut a small square and cut THAT in half! Following me?   The square cut in half I turned so it was more like a triangle and that made the fish tail.

And then I put on some googly eyes and drew in a smile since my Daughter loves to swim, and I figure fishies do too!!   For the 'bubbles' I used some circles from Enjoy Every Moment and Think Happy Thoughts, both are from SU!   Funny, both sets have positive thinking in the title!! I try to live my life positively, but then life gets in way and then I have to try harder!

To go with the theme of swimming and bubbles I cut my pictures in circles.    There isn't a lot on the pages, but I think it is still stinkin' Cute!!   I would love to know what you think!

Today I am going to show you a card!   I started off scrapbooking 9 years ago, but then once I had all those stamps and goodies, I wanted to be able to get more for my money! So, I started making cards.   My relatives LOVE my handmade cards! They won't throw them away, they display them all year round! What store bought card do you see DISPLAYED all year round?!! Asian Artistry (Hostess level 1)

For the handmade card I did today, I went WAY out of my comfort zone and used ONLY Bold Brights from the SU! color line. Whisper White doesn't count as a color, so I stick by my statement! LOL I used the hostess level 1 set Asian Artistry, which I LOVE!! It has the style I love and it has a Dragon Fly in there!! Dragon Flies remind me of my childhood playing outside at our family cabin on a lake.

Don't forget that Monday March 1st is the Blog Hop that I am a part of. The card I did today is one I have wanted to do for some time. I got the idea from Lisa Brown, I used the same stamp set (Autumn Days) but I changed up the saying and the circles she used I put squares instead. This set is one of my favorites from Stampin' Up!   The great thing is that I got to use the Texture Cuts Wood Sheets that SU! sells.   I will no longer have to try to make wood grain on my own! These sheets are bare wood, so you can stain it to be any color you want!! Too Cool!!!

Isn't this card GREAT?!!   I went over the bottom and the middle layer wood sheet with Creamy Caramel and a sponge and the blue layer I used Not Quite Navy. The squares were started with Very vanilla, I used Versamark and white Embossing powder and then sponged over this with Craft More Mustard and then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set Warm Words.

Beautiful Wings

Today I am going to show you a card that was inspired by Ilina Crouse. I used her design, but changed the colors, inks and paper. I used the new Sizzix embosslit from SU! called Beautiful Wings. This is the coolest little embosslit! There are FIVE butterflies and each one comes out of the Sizzix embossed different from the others!! Too cool!! I also used the Stampin' Up! punch Scallop Trim Border punch that you can get for FREE through March, ask me for details!

This handmade card measures 6 1/2 X 6 1/2, it fits into the SU! Small Open ended envelopes on page 168 in the big Catty. I don't make enough of this size card, and after seeing this one I ask myself, why? I am always sending cards in the traditional size and this one is such a perfect size I need to send these out more often!

Vintage Vogue

I have another Vintage Voge handmade card to show you. This one is very sparkly because I used some Glitter! I thought I was done using this great stamp set from Stampin' Up!, at least for a while, but it grabbed me again! I really love the ivy stamp, and the flowers! I guess that is one sign that it is one you should buy! You won't have to look too far to find some samples!

This handmade card is very pretty in person, it has sparkles in each of the flower centers.

Watercolor Crayon Class

Snow Day

I am so sorry that I haven't posted yet this week! Today is Wednesday and I don't know how the middle of the week is here already!!   Yesterday I had my scrapbook class, and that is what I was working on! So for today I am showing you what we did last night! You might not know, but here in North Carolina we have had more snow than usual. I figured that everyone that comes to my scrapbook night would have snow pictures, so I made a two-page spread called Snow Day. I 'WAS' going to call it 'Let it Snow', but didn't want to tempt fate and call for more snow.
Tearing paper is a great way to make a snow drift, and if you notice the snow on both pages meets. I like to have my scrapbook pages be continuous so the eye keeps traveling. Here are the pages we did last night:

We had so much fun last night! We were finished around 8:00 p.m., but some of the ladies just hung around and visited and got to know each other better. These ladies are so great to hang out with!!   Scrapbook night is every 3rd Tuesday, I hope you decide to come next month and see for yourself!!

Guest Artist! Mary Ellen Harrison

Today I am posting a card I received in the mail from my Stampin' Sister Mary Ellen Harrison! When you become a Demonstrator with Stampin' Up! you get to know some really awesome stampers! If you happen to live in North Carolina you can join our NCDemo group and you can get a Stampin' Sister! Each person gets a Sister to trade cards with, I send some to Mary Ellen and she sends some to me!! Yesterday I got this GOJUS!!! card in the mail! I LOVE it! She clear embossed the Love and the heart and it is so touchable! And the colors go so well together! If you can see on this handmade card she stamped the heart design onto the background, it is subtle but so pretty!!

Now, don't you wish you were me?! Hahaha Mary Ellen colored in the 'V' with blue so the flower has water! Too cute! She also used the Eyelet Border punch and the crimper. I'm sure that the Big Circle is one of the Sizzix Die!

Monday is my class at the Senior Center!! We will be doing 3 projects, learning a new technique AND having a blast!! I hope to see you there! We are meeting at 9:45 a.m. downstairs in the Kernersville Library. Please let me know if you are going to come so I can have everything ready for you!!

Birthday Bash

I took the day off yesterday, just didn't feel the juices flowing. Today, my husband let me sleep in and for the first time in 3 nights I got a really good nights sleep!! So, today I am ready to go!

I am working on my Daughter Kristi's scrapbook today, she is getting married soon and I like to give a gift of her life in scrapbooks for her wedding! This is her entire life until she gets married and then it is up to her to continue it if she wants!!

The scrapbook pages I did today are of her Brother Erik's 16th Birthday! Kristi doesn't get to come home very often, so when she does I am ready with the camera!!

I came along this sketch online:

And it just so happens to meet the Requirements for the New Design Team I am on!! I needed to have Cardstock (Check!), Designer Paper (Check!), 2 flowers (Check!), 2 Die Cuts for Journaling (Check!!)

I used the Sizzix Die cut Circles, Scallop #2, for the journaling, and the Die Cut Flower Daisies #2 for the Sun.

The Title page is called Birthday Bash, and most of the pictures are set in the back yard, so I wanted to make it Sunny and have waves since they were swimming!

For the 'waves' I used SU!'s cutter kit and with the cutting blade. I ran the blade along some Designer Series Paper (Walk in the Park-Retired) to make it wavy. This tool makes it so simple!!

Here is a close up of the picture I wanted to draw your eye to on the Title page:

I used the Piercing tool (once again from SU!) and punched to highlight this picture. I didn't want it to be too 'in your face', but wanted to be subtle.

Doesn't this page make you think of water? AND make you wish for Winter to be OVER??!!

I used SU!'s Bashful Blue Brads.   I LOVE how everything Color Coordinates!!   When I first started scrapbooking/stamping I went to the Craft Store with some Red paper I wanted to match.......I couldn't find anything that went with that paper! Then I was invited to go to a Stampin' Up! get together and I saw that once you pick the color you want to use there is SO MUCH that will go with it! The paper color coordinates with the ink, which goes with the ribbon, brads, Designer Paper, buttons.....you NAME it!! It makes putting a layout together MUCH easier!!   THEN once I saw how great everything coordinates, I just HAD to become a Demonstrator!! This way I get the best product AND I get paid to play! WooHoo!!! Can't get much better than that!!

Oh!!!   I wanted to show you how my 'Waves' match up when they are put in an album!

    COOL, right?   LOL It really doesn't take too much to excite me when I am being creative!! LOL

I used the Big Shot textured plate Background 1 AFTER I spritzed the cardstock with rubbing alcohol that has a little bit of the Frost White paint (still available from the Holiday mini!) mixed in. The Alcohol lets the impression get deep inside so the impression is even more prominent, and the Frost White with the alcohol gives the cardstock a shimmer!! Love it!!

How to video-Scallop circle flower (seen on last post)

Today I am sharing with you a video that I made that 'shows' you how to make the SU! Scallop circle flower that I showed you on Friday. This is only my second video, and you can tell! LOL I had some trouble in the middle of the video, but hang in there and you will get to see how to do this wonderful flower!!

Scallop Circle punch flower

So, yesterday my friend Pam came by and showed me how to make a GORGEOUS flower by using patterned paper and the SU! Scallop Circle punch!! So, she makes it for me and then she leaves after we come up with some ideas on how to design a handmade card around this flower. Other than the colors, we left it there.
Today, I have this BRAIN Storm!! I know! Shocks me too! Heehee   I used the Scallop Trim Corner punch to make two corner punches INSIDE my cardstock! I then cut some paper to fit down inside and trimmed the sides with the Scallop Trim Border punch! I really like how it came out, I hope you do too!!

I am tired of the rain and snow, I would like to know WHO prayed for snowdays??!!!    Hmmmmm? We have had 3 systems within weeks of each other and we hardly every get snow here in NC!!   We are expecting more on Tuesday and again next weekend!! Enough Already!!

I used Stampin' Up!'s new stamp set I (Heart) Hearts, and the wheel I (Love) Love. You will HAVE to let me know if you like this card!! Another Technique card

I am showing you another handmade card I made using the technique I had on here yesterday. This is the card we will be making in my class on the 3rd Monday of February. This card is a little simpler and easy to put together. And when you have over 20 people in the class room, easy and quick are great! My class is going to be at the Senior Center here in Kernersville NC.

This handmade card is still very striking in person, and it has Gold Cording wrapped around the top of the card to add a little Bling!
