Catalog Inspired Owl Card and Blog Candy!
A friend of mine came over yesterday to 'play', of course us rubber stampers call coming over to Stamp 'playing'! Kind of like having a 'play date' with your kids, only I think it's much more fun!
There is a card I saw in the New Idea Book and Catalog on page 200 where they made a handmade card using the new Owl punch! I wanted to make it, so we both did!! It turned out great! Of course I just had to change some things up, most of the time I just look at something and need to change it up to suit my tastes better. One of the things I did to make it mine, was to use an Embossing Folder, then I brayered over the embossed side with Soft Suede, to make it stand out more. I also changed up the Designer Series Paper and the ribbon.
Here is a look at the card we did:

This is why Stampin' Up! calls the catalog "Idea Book & Catalog"!! There are so many ideas you can take right from the pages! You can leave them as they are, or change them up, like I did. I absolutely LOVE this punch!! It was a lot of fun to make this handmade card, and I am going to look in the Catalog again and see what else I can make from there!
If you would like any or all of these supplies to make this card, click here to go to my website and have your order come straight to your door!!! Just click on the Shop Now button on top right.
And here is another peek at my Blog Candy!

To be in the running to win this Clear Stamp Set from SU!, just leave me a comment here on my blog. You will be put into a drawing that will be held on August 2nd! What could be easier??!! Good luck everyone!!!

Great card with using decorator papers for the front. May have to get me the owl punch. Would make a wonderful birthday card for children or a book mark. Nannette

Lisa, this is the cutest card to date. The owls are just adorable, but I like the color scheme too. The embossing on the backgournd page is very different, but just right for this card.
