Vintage Vogue

I hope you guys had a Great Holiday!!  I had a wonderful time!  All FIVE of my kids made it home and brought their husband (one daughter) and Fiance (other daughter) and we spent the time playing cards, Wii and just visiting!    I am back now and ready to go!!!

One thing before I start, there is a change to my schedule..............my 2nd Tuesday class is being rescheduled to the 4th Tuesday, hope everyone can still make it!!  Please let me know so I can plan and cut ahead of time.  Thanks!!

I have shown you before the new set from the Occassions Mini-Vintage Vogue by Stampin' Up!, I really fell in love with this set and just HAD to make a card that was simple, yet still really pretty.  So, the card I made uses the flower and the Friends part of the set.  I cut a mask for the 'friends' and then stamped the flower so it looked like the flower was behind the Big F for friends.  I love this technique, you just have to stamp whatever you want in the foreground on thin printer paper and then cut out the image, and once you stamp your main image, you lay the mask on top of it, and then stamp over your mask to make the image be under it!!  Try it!  You'll love it!!

The colors I used are Certainly Celery for the base of this handmade card.  I then used Soft Suede for the background of the focal image  which I stamped on white paper using  Soft Suede for the Friends and Real Red for the flower, the leaves were stamped using Certainly Celery (which I masked the flower to make the leaves look like they were coming behind it).
I then used the Red stitched ribbon to make a little interest in the corner.  For the middle of the flower I punched out some textured Certainly Celery and sponged it with the Soft Suede to give it dimension, I also used a dimensional to pop up the center.  The strip to the left is just a strip of Soft Suede.  The Sentiment is also from the mini and it comes in the set Well Scripted.  Both of these sets I got to where I can mount them on Clear blocks so I can see where I am stamping and I can't believe I am saying this, but I love it!!  It makes it so much simpler to stamp (not that it was all that hard, but it IS much easier to store!), and my blocks don't get dirty!!   Give me a call if you would like to try the unmounted stamps before you buy them, you will want to make sure you like them this way.

I missed you guys, hopefully you missed me!!!

Have a Great Stamping Day!!
