Lovely as a Tree
Today I wanted to make a handmade card using my Templates I made last week. If you don't recall here is what I did: I cut out the Sizzix Die-Frame Oval Scallop, using acetate. This way I can re-use it, I used the scallop oval that is cut off the outside of the die, but not the scallop part, just the oval. I used the Hermafix removable adhesive on the acetate and placed where I wanted my image on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut to the size I wanted on the card. I stamped Stampin' Up!'s Lovely as a Tree inside the oval, and then sponged blue in the sky and brown in the ground. I then decided that I would make this a Fall card, so I got out my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and my Aqua Painter and painted in my colorful 'leaves'. I then stamped Hope Happens on a piece of Ballet Blue cardstock and then cut it out using the modern label punch. I poked holes in the sides of the label and put some antique brads in. I mounted this piece onto Chocolate Chip, then Really Rust and then finally on Ballet Blue. Before the Ballet Blue layer I put Antique Brads in each corner. So? What do you think? Does it look like it is a Fall day?
My Technique class yesterday went great! I had two new people come and I hope we didn't scare them off so they will come again!
I am going to have a night Technique class if there is enough interest. You will be doing the exact class I have on the First Monday of the month, but it will be in the evening at my home instead of the Senior Center. Each month we learn a new technique and we make a 6 X 6 scrapbook page that has directions and a sample of the technique. Then we make a card using the technique so by the end of the class you have the new technique down! And then to top off the class we will make one more card that has nothing to do with the technique, we will do it just because I want you to be happy!
The cost of this class is only $5.00 or free if you place an order over $20.00. This is a great opportunity for you to learn new techniques AND to slowly build up your supplies. By the time you feel comfortable with stamping and creating beautiful projects you will be set!!! So? What do you say?
Have a Great Stamping Day!!
