Sweet Scoops and Blog Candy!

How are you handling the heat?  How about some ice cream to cool you off?  Here is a handmade card using the stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Sweet Scoops.   I made the Ice Cream a little drippy, since it's been so hot lately, I figured that there is no way it would stay so pretty with it being so HOT!!

You will have to let me know what you think of this card.

Can you see that it is all shiny?  I used Crystal Effects again today.  I just love how it makes the card so touch feely!  I also had some beads laying around, and put them on top of the Crystal Effects before it dried, to give the ice cream some sprinkles.   It makes me want some ice cream, how about you?!

Awash with Flowers and Blog Candy!

For today's card I am showing you a technique that I wanted to try out.  Plus, I used Crystal Effects, which I LOVE to use!  It adds a perfect element to the card, and it really makes an image pop!!

Do you want to know how I did the circles in the vellum?  I punched out a bunch of circles from some chipboard that I have, using the 1 3/8" circle punch from SU!, and layed them on my Multi purpose platform.  I doubled up the circles so each place had TWO circles (to make the indent more pronounced), then layed the Vellum over top of the circles.  Once they were together, I put on the Silicone Rubber and the Impressions pad.  I layed one of the clear plates on top of this and sent it through the Big Shot.  This left these circles.  Then I took a sponge Dauber and on the opposite side (where the circles were indented), I sponged on some Peach Parfait.  When you turn the vellum over the Peach Parfait comes shining through!

I stamped the Awash with Flowers image using Peach Parfait and then rolled just the edges on the Cajun Craze ink pad.  This is called "Rock 'n' Roll".  Once I was done stamping, I put some Crystal Effects on top of it, so it puddled over the image.  Let this dry and then put image on cardstock!  Very pretty, don't you think?

Catalog Inspired Owl Card and Blog Candy!

A friend of mine came over yesterday to 'play', of course us rubber stampers call coming over to Stamp 'playing'!  Kind of like having a 'play date' with your kids, only I think it's much more fun!

There is a card I saw in the New Idea Book and Catalog on page 200 where they made a handmade card using the new Owl punch!   I wanted to make it, so we both did!!   It turned out great!  Of course I just had to change some things up, most of the time I just look at something and need to change it up to suit my tastes better.  One of the things I did to make it mine, was to use an Embossing Folder, then I brayered over the embossed side with Soft Suede, to make it stand out more.  I also changed up the Designer Series Paper and the ribbon.

Here is a look at the card we did:

This is why Stampin' Up! calls the catalog "Idea Book & Catalog"!!   There are so many ideas you can take right from the pages!  You can leave them as they are, or change them up, like I did.   I absolutely LOVE this punch!!   It was a lot of fun to make this handmade card, and I am going to look in the Catalog again and see what else I can make from there!

Summer Scrapbook Page and Blog Candy!!

I had my Scrapbook Class on Tuesday night.  We had a blast!   Everyone made a Two Page Spread with Summer as the theme.  Today I am showing you what one of my Friends did with her page......it turned out so cute, I just had to share!!

The GREAT thing was that when she went home with her empty pages, someone had bought her a Frog floatie for her daughter!  What's the chances of that happening?!!    Ok, this was what she did with her pages, she put frogs in because she thought it would fit better for her pictures.  Unfortunately, the frog stamp is retired.  Normally I wouldn't show you guys something retired, but these pictures were too cute!!    So here are the pic's of the Summer Page I did for Class:

Each circle represents things that have to do with summer.  Since my husband is a Soccer Freak, I had to put that in!   Plus, I have some pic's of my Daughter Kimmie playing soccer that I can use.

Here are some close ups of the circles:

And a close up of the Bee...........I stamped it twice, once on the White circle and again on Vellum and cut it out and placed over the bee to make the wings look real (plus I put Dazzling Diamonds on them!!):

Isn't that cool??!!   The letters are Serif Essential Alphabet from Sizzix, that I cut out on my Die Cut Machine the Big Shot!

I covered chipboard with the Designer Paper Island Oasis from the Summer Mini and then ran the chipboard through the Big Shot to get my letters.

I warned you that my 'tomorrow' might be like my husbands 'tomorrows', BUT mine at least came the same week!  LOL

Today I am going to show you the Third card that we are doing at my Specialty Card Class on Monday the 19th.  The first one (to remind you) is the Lady sitting at the bar, the second one is the REALLY pretty one that I did earlier this week using Simply Said.

The handmade card I am doing today is one that was inspired by a card I saw online, but I can't give credit since the person didn't have a watermark on her card.  If it is yours, I would love to give you credit for inspiring me!  I changed up quite a bit, but the design is pretty close to the original.

I love simple cards that look elegant!!  Don't you?!!   I ran the Perfect Plum Cardstock through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  LOVE this folder (well really, I love them all!), it makes the paper not look plain and it gives the card more texture!

Countryside and Blog Candy!

I had a FUN class last night, and around an hour before the class I had this card design in my head, and I just HAD to do it for class!!  This is a FUN technique and Super Easy to do!  BUT, it looks like it takes a lot of work and is AMAZING to look at!!  Don't you just love those kind of techniques?!!

The stamp set from Stampin' Up! that I used is called Countryside and it is so pretty!   When I bought it from the New Catalog I knew I would do this type of card with it!   AND I am not a big colorer (is that a word?!), and this card really doesn't take much coloring!

Here is the card:

Simply Said and Blog Candy!

I absolutely LOVE the new Embossing Folder by Stampin' Up! called Vintage Wallpaper!  It is so pretty, and it really makes my handmade cards look professional!

For my handmade card today I used the New SU! paper Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler.  These colors are so striking!  The stamp set from SU! I used is called Simply Said.  This is an older set, but one that is very versatile!

The handmade card I am showing you today is one I am doing at the Senior Center in Kernersville next Monday the 19th of July.  We will be making two other cards also.  I have already shown you one of the three last week.  It's the one I like to think of me sitting at a bar in Hawaii having a nice cool drink.     I will 'try' to show you the third card tomorrow that we will be doing on the 19th.  The cost for all three cards is $15.00!  And let me tell you, I prep EVERYTHING!  So, that card with all the punch outs?  They will be all punched out, but you will get a printout of which punches you will need.

Here is the card I wanted to show you:

Bar Fly punch art and NEW Blog Candy!

I know, I know!!  I said on Monday that 'tomorrow' I would show you some new blog Candy.......Well, let me tell you a 'little' funny........My husband always says he will do something ' Tomorrow!', well let me tell you.........His Tomorrow's NEVER get here!  I HATE that!     And what did I do?!  I told you tomorrow I will bring more Blog Candy, and my Tomorrow got here today!  Sheesh!  Don't you hate it when you do something that you KNOW 'you' hate?!!  :-/    I hope you forgive me, especially when I show you what I am giving away for my Blog Candy!!   Let me know if it makes up for my blunder.

The handmade card I am making today is one I have seen online everywhere, but haven't managed to try it for myself yet.  I was so EXCITED on Tuesday to have the 'Wilmington Girls' (Peggy and Jeria) come to visit and Jeria brought this card for us to do!    I hope you are as excited as I was!!

Isn't she cute!??    I like to think that this is Me when I am in Hawaii!  HeeHee   This takes a Lot of punches, but MOST of them you will already have.

I am doing this card for my upcoming stamp class on July 19th at the Senior Center here in Kernersville, NC.  The time is 9:45 a.m. and the cost for this card and two others is $15.00.  Sign up with me to take this class, and you will go home with this AWESOME card!    You MUST sign up to attend.  This card takes a lot of prep time, so if you sign up you MUST call me before July 15th if you can not come after all.

This was a great card to make, and It just makes me smile to look at it!  I hope you like it.

Now, onto the Blog Candy!!!   This months blog candy is another stamp set!  AND a clear mounted one at that!

This set is called Vintage Labels, it has 6 stamps!   You can get this stamp set by leaving me a comment here on my blog.  The drawing will be held on August 2nd.  This set is very cool, I was hoping it would be put into the new Catalog, but alas it wasn't.   I will be happy to have one of you win this set!!
